What it costs to paint a room in the Hudson Valley, with real numbers

Painting is the service homeowners most often get vague quotes for, so here are Lux's real starting numbers. A medium room (up to 12×14), walls only, starts at $900. A small room up to 10×10 comes in around $765, a large room up to 16×20 around $1,215, and a great room or open-plan space around $1,620.

Scope changes the number predictably: adding trim to that medium room is +$185, and the full room — walls, trim and ceiling — is +$320. An accent wall adds $75, and going dark over a light color adds $140 for the extra coat. Patching and repairing walls first is +$150, and wallpaper removal is +$240 and confirmed after we see it.

If you already have the paint, tell us — we subtract $110 and use yours. If you'd rather we bring premium paint, that's the default. Either way you see the difference on the quote, which is how pricing should work.

Two or more rooms in one scheduled block price better than separate visits, and a full interior repaint is planned room by room so the house stays livable while we work. Every painting job is reserved with 50% and scheduled on your preferred date — and the price you accept is the price on the final invoice.
